BasketBall Fever wained, so back to work

Spring Break week here in our school district. I have a whole week of chores to get to. I also have a trip to the Taft Museum planned and of course working on my present painting.

This is the painting that I promised to post last week when my BB fever got in the way. I confess, I began this last fall and put it aside to work on those paintings that you have seen on this post since January. I was getting frustrated with myself for trying to hurry this piece along. So putting it aside and coming back to it with fresh eyes is a good thing.

This past week I have been working on the folds in the pants and shirt. I am liking the direction they are heading, but I think I need to darken the pants and shirt front shadows more. Once I get that done I will then clean-up the arms and face.

Then to figure out the corn stalks. Do I tighten them up or leave them impressionistic?

Lovely painting.... I vote to leave it impressionistic. I like letting my mind pick out the details occasionally.
