Onions

This is the painting I have chosen for the Annual Boys and Girls Club Fundraiser. The event is normally this coming weekend. Due to them remodeling a new building they have pushed the event to April.

I took this shot of onions in Las Vegas at the Bellagio. They have this atrium and they change the garden with the seasons. I was there in March so the theme was preparing for the summer garden. They had several nice vignettes that I snapped.

The feel is kinda rust monochromatic with hints of yellows, sepia and blue. Very mellow.

Since I mostly do people, and I have painted a few landscapes or landscapes with people, I have not done still lifes.  I have painted an orchid in a Terracotta pot, but I have not painted what I consider a true still life set up in watercolor before.  So the challenge is on.

Leave a comment to tell me what areas you have not tried to paint.

You will do fine! I cannot paint people and am terrible at landscapes - so there!!!

Hahaha. We all have our strong areas. However, with each stoke I can't help but wonder how you lay down those fluid strokes. You make it look so simple.
This looks like a fun painting to work on. I have done people, but it was not easy for me and I'm not sure that I'd call it a success. I'll be looking forward to the next stage.
